Our thoughts and prayers are with the survivors and all Indigenous Nations over the discovery of hundreds of unmarked graves at former residential schools in British Columbia and Saskatchewan. Sadly, we know there are many more of these discoveries to come.

We see how colonial systems have traumatized and are now retraumatizing Indigenous communities and families. It is impossible to describe the sorrow and pain such discoveries bring. As Canadians, these ugly truths from our past must be acknowledged and confronted. We all have a responsibility to support Indigenous communities, learn about and understand our shared past. Reconciliation requires we work together to create a better future.
